Alt-Berg Boots
Alt-Berg Motorcycle boots are manufactured in Richmond, North Yorkshire and have been on the market for some time. The boots are leather and come half way up the calf of the leg. The fastenings are by four, side fastening, velcro flaps which hold the boot firmly on the leg and foot.
The boots come complete with a large tin of waterproofing, which is put on very similar to boot polish and looks much the same. Nice touch this as it saves you buying any and it really does do the trick. After wearing the boots for some time, I have found them to be the only real waterproof boots I have known. I have used the waterproofing as recommended, rubbing it well into the stitching and other parts on a regular basis. This stuff really works and the water just runs off without penetrating the leather itself. The only real drawback I have found is that after months of wearing them almost everyday, and in all weathers, the velcro eventually loses its stickiness and the flaps become flimsy, but by this time, they have taken some real stick.
Now used by Police Forces and Driving Standard Agency Motorcycle Examiners.
